(30-Day Spoken Chinese Beginner Plan)
🗓 This is Day 10 of the 30-Day Spoken Chinese Beginner Plan
🔙 Back to Full Course: Spoken Chinese for Beginners
Today you will review everything you learned from Days 1 to 9 and practice speaking in short, confident sentences. The goal is not new words. The goal is to speak better, faster, and more clearly. Study time: 15–20 minutes. Indian context: Think of this like revision before a small test or interview. Short practice, real confidence.
Nǐ hǎo — Hello
Xièxie — Thank you
Bú kèqi — You’re welcome
Zàijiàn — Goodbye
Wǒ jiào … — My name is …
Wǒ shì Yìndù rén — I am Indian
Wǒ shì xuésheng / Wǒ shì lǎoshī — I am a student / I am a teacher
Xiànzài jǐ diǎn? — What time is it now?
Jīntiān — Today

Zhège duōshao qián? — How much is this?
Tài guì le — Too expensive
Hěn piányi — Very cheap
Wǒ yào zhège — I want this one
Qǐng, wǒ yào shuǐ / chá / kāfēi — Please, I want water / tea / coffee
Simple tip: If you can say these smoothly, your basic spoken Chinese is already working.
Say each line three times:
Nǐ hǎo. — Hello.
Wǒ jiào (your name). — My name is (your name).
Wǒ shì Yìndù rén. — I am Indian.
Xièxie. — Thank you.
Zàijiàn. — Goodbye.
Dialogue A (Meeting someone):
A: Nǐ hǎo. (Hello.)
B: Nǐ hǎo. (Hello.)
A: Wǒ jiào (your name). (My name is …)
B: Hěn gāoxìng rènshi nǐ. (Nice to meet you.)
A: Zàijiàn. (Goodbye.)
B: Zàijiàn. (Goodbye.)
Dialogue B (Shopping):
A: Zhège duōshao qián? (How much is this?)
B: (Price)
A: Tài guì le. (Too expensive.) / Hěn piányi. (Very cheap.)
A: Hǎo, wǒ yào zhège. (Okay, I want this one.)
B: Hǎo. (Okay.)
A: Xièxie. (Thank you.)
Say this slowly and clearly:
Qǐng, wǒ yào shuǐ. — Please, I want water.
Qǐng, wǒ yào chá. — Please, I want tea.
Qǐng, wǒ yào kāfēi. — Please, I want coffee.
Xièxie. — Thank you.
Indian context: This is like saying “One tea, please” or “One coffee, please” in a café. Short and polite is perfect.
Read the Quick Review List once.
Do Speaking Drill 1 once.
Do one mini conversation from Section 4.
Say two restaurant sentences from Section 5.
Record your voice and listen. Check: Are you clear? Are you slow and confident?
Do not worry about mistakes. Fluency comes from repeating simple sentences many times. Short sentences, clear voice, calm speed.
Can you introduce yourself? Yes or No.
Can you ask the price of something? Yes or No.
Can you order a drink? Yes or No.
If yes, great! You are ready to move forward.
