By the end of today, you can introduce yourself in a simple, polite way.
Learn these core sentences:
Wǒ jiào … — My name is …
👉 Use this to say your name.
Example: Wǒ jiào Aruna. = My name is Aruna.
Nǐ jiào shénme míngzi? — What is your name?
👉 Use this to ask someone’s name.
Hěn gāoxìng rènshi nǐ. — Nice to meet you.
👉 Say this when you meet someone for the first time.
Wǒ yě shì. — Me too.
👉 Say this when someone says “Nice to meet you” to you.
Simple tip:
Don’t worry about perfect accent today. Speak slowly and clearly.
A: Nǐ hǎo!
(Hello!)
B: Nǐ hǎo!
(Hello!)
A: Wǒ jiào Aruna. Nǐ jiào shénme míngzi?
(My name is Aruna. What is your name?)
B: Wǒ jiào Ravi.
(My name is Ravi.)
A: Hěn gāoxìng rènshi nǐ.
(Nice to meet you.)
B: Wǒ yě shì.
(Me too.)
👉 Read this once slowly, then once normally.
Say Wǒ jiào slowly.
Don’t rush your name.
Example:
Wǒ jiào Aruna.
Practice saying your name 3 times.
✅ Your Day 2 Task:
Say these aloud 3 times:
Wǒ jiào … (your name)
Nǐ jiào shénme míngzi?
Hěn gāoxìng rènshi nǐ.
Wǒ yě shì.
Practice this mini self-introduction:
Wǒ jiào (your name). Hěn gāoxìng rènshi nǐ.
Record your voice saying:
“Wǒ jiào (your name). Hěn gāoxìng rènshi nǐ.”
Repeat this again tomorrow for 2 minutes.
Can you say your name in Chinese? ✅
